Trivandrum: Candidates of the Students Islamic Organization (SIO) post amazing victories in several seats in the Kerala University Union elections. Anas, a BE.d student at the Gov: BE.d College, Trivandrum and Kollam District Committee member of SIO has been elected to the Students Council of the University. Arshad, a student at the National College has been elected to the Executive Committee.
Ahmed Yasir, an M.A student at the Karyavattam campus and Trivandrum District Secretary of SIO missed the race into the University Senate for narrow votes. Victories of SIO candidates are particularly appreciable as they fought against solid SFI candidates in the University campuses.
Congratulating the winners and other SIO candidates, P.M Salih, State President of the organization said that it was the success of SIO's motto for a creative campus. Achievements in the Kerala University elections are real indicators of the fact that student community has begun to recognize the significance of SIO's politics in campuses.
In ecstasy of the triumphs, SIO activists took a rally in Trivandrum city. Muhammed Aslam, State Secretary of SIO inaugurated the students' gathering at the Rakhthasakshi Mandapam. S Sameer, Convener of SIO Campus Samithi presided over the function. Sakeer, Secretary of SIO Campus Committee and Shihab, member of SIO Campus Committee spoke in the function. T. Arifali, Ameer, JIH Kerala, Hameed Vanimel, Political Secretary of JIH, K.A Shafeeque, State Vice President of the Solidarity Youth Movement appreciated victory of SIO candidates in the election to the University Union.
